How to Change the COM Port Number

Step by step guide on how to change COM Port number

Step 1: Open device manager, and expand ‘Ports (COM & LPT). I will use MobiGATE SG-B-8-U for this example

Step 2: Select the COM Port you want to change, right click and click on ‘Properties’

Step 3: Click on ‘Port Settings’ tab

Step 4: Click on ‘Advanced’

Step 5: Select the COM Port that is not in use. I will select COM Port 26 for this example.

Step 6: Click on ‘OK’. The COM Port is changed now.

File Access Denied to SMS Engine

Problem

  • “File Access Denied” error message appeared; or
  • unable to save or write database file, batch file, “config.xml” file or text file.

Applies To

  1. MOBITEK MobiGATE SMS Engine — Enterprise Edition version 5 and 6;
  2. MOBITEK CLISMS version 5 and above; and
  3. Windows 7 and above.

Solution

Allow “Full Control” to “Users” to the folder of the application. In this example, itis “C:\Program Files (x86)\SMS Engine Enterprise Edition”

  1. Security -> Users -> Edit

    Security -> Users -> Edit

SMS Stuck in Outbox Table

What is the Operating System? Windows 10, 64 bit
Description of Problem:

Incoming msg and check credit seem fine but could not send outgoing messages. Message seems always in the queue but not sending out.

SMS are stuck in the outbox, it won’t send out. But Engine can received incoming SMS into inbox.

MOBITEK SMS ENGINE can read incoming SMS but unable to send out SMS

Outgoing SMS are stucked in the “outbox” table

 Engine has disabled routing (i.e. SMS is sent to all numbers)

Suggested Solution: We suggested you to:1.  Run the SMS ENGINE as “administrator”

2.Change the “Region> Formats” to “English (United States)”.
– Go to Control Panel > Region

– Change the format to English (US). then click OK

3. Allow “Full control” to “Everyone” for the database file,  “SMSEngine5.mdb”.

Right click on “SMSEngine5.mdb” then click properties.

Select “Security > Users”, then click “Edit” button

Click “Add” button

Type “Everyone”, Click at Check Names and then click “OK”.
